      Camp Discovery at the Museum of Discovery and Science

      When school is out, Camp Discovery is in!

      ·Camp Discovery provides parents with the opportunity to give their children (ages 6 - 12) a day of STEM-focused, hands-on learning opportunities.

      · Camps are offered in one-day, four-day and five-day camp programs.

      · The themed camps will take place throughout the holiday season to coincide with days that Broward County students are not in school.

      ·Camp-goers will enjoy educational and fun-filled activities packed with themes like inventions, electricity, robots, liquid nitrogen, and even Star Wars!


      · Runways to Launch Pads November 11 (One-Day Camp)
      Kids can test their engineering skills with planes, rockets and other out-of-this world inventions. Campers will design a space station and create their own set of wings. Plus, they can soar into the exciting world of aviation while exploring the Museum’s newly remodeled To Fly exhibit.


      · Makerspace: Thinkers and Tinker November 27 (One-Day Camp)
      Join the Maker Movement! Campers will design, tweak, create, and innovate their way through challenging projects, such as tinkering with electricity, designing simple machines, and making moving parts. Campers will get creative in the Museum’s brand-new makerspace, The Hangar, located in the newly remodeled To Fly exhibit.


      ·Makerspace: Unplugged November 29 (One-Day Camp)
      LEDs, motors, and buzzers, oh my! Kids can explore electricity and circuits to make creations from everyday items. Activities will include building a moving robot out of a toothbrush, a flashlight out of Popsicle sticks, a video game out of Play-Doh, and more. The possibilities are endless with a visit to the Museum’s new makerspace, The Hangar, located in the newly remodeled To Fly exhibit.
